The environmentally friendly dust bags on the surface get a hug in a new analysis that calls for the use of plastic bags.

The next time a condemned look is handed out when a plastic bag smokes on the counter in the supermarket, there is no reason to feel the blame of the debt on the shoulder. The plastic bags are better for the environment than fabric bags.
It concludes a new, large survey from DTU, commissioned by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
"It may seem surprising that plastic bags are the most environmentally friendly choice.

The survey is called "Life Cycle Assesment of Grocery carrier Bags".
It concludes that you need to use a paper bag 40 times, a plain cotton cloth 7100 times and a cotton bag fabric bag 20,000 times before they are better alternatives to the environment.
- If you already have dust bags or other types of bags that you use, it's a good idea to keep using them until they are worn out.
- The lifecycle assessment emphasizes that it is good for the environment if we recycle our carry bags as many times as possible, regardless of the material, writes the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.

Unjustified criticism

The report does not surprise the Plastindustry interest organization.
- The plastic bag is one of the probably most dumped plastic products in the public debate. The analysis here shows that the criticism is unfounded.
"The plastic bag is and will be the most environmentally friendly choice when comparing with the alternatives," writes CEO Thomas Drustrup on the organization's website.
Plastic bags have been highly depleted in recent years, as plastic pollution becomes a major and major problem, not least in the world's oceans.
There are even proposals for banning the use of plastic bags in several countries.
